Iranian Railroad for Queer Refugees

IRQR is an organization I heard about a mere few days ago. The fault is likely mine.

The aim of IRQR is, quite simply, to rescue gays and lesbians from the theocratic Iranian regime, under which being homosexual incurs the death penalty, and help them to safety. As this photo indicates, life is a nightmare for the GLBT folks under Iran's brand of Islam:

IRQR is hosting a fundraising brunch in Ottawa on February 27. Come, listen to "Tone Cluster--Quite a Queer Choir," and learn. See you there!
